The Best Burger (At Least in Our Neck of the Woods)

Five Guys!  They’ve recently come to the Atlanta area and seem to be a hit everywhere.  All they serve is burgers, bacon burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and fries.  There is a lengthy list of toppings to choose from, all included in the price.  The regular burger is a double decker, and the “junior” is just one patty.  One order of fries easily serves at least two people.  You order and pay at a counter, then find a table while your order is prepared.  Everything is prepared fresh.  Your order comes in a paper bag with the fries half in the bag and half in a styrofoam cup and the burgers wrapped in foil.    Very casual, very family friendly, but a step up from fast food, especially in price.  Two burgers and one order of fries plus drinks will easily set you back about $15.  And the fat and calories make it only about a once-a-month indulgence for us, but it is SO worth it!

So if Five Guys is in your area and you haven’t tried it yet, I really recommend it.  And if they’re not there yet and you have some spare change to invest, contact them about becoming a franchisee.  I’m telling you these places are constantly packed (but not so you have to wait long).

  1. Hi Susan! Love the blog! The only thing that surprises me is how long it took you to start blogging, especially since you were into web authoring before I was 🙂 (referring to your HTML classes back in the dark days of ITMG).

I love your writing style, btw.

Happy Easter to you and Don and the menagerie!

  2. Thanks, and same to you and your household!

  3. Your blog on the burgers and fries make me hungry and after Easter dinner I swore I’d never eat again (at least not today)
