The Best Can Opener

This is one of the handiest gadgets in my kitchen and is another one of those rare products that does exactly what it says it does.  The One Touch can opener opens cans cleanly and with one touch.   And best of all, it lives in a drawer when not in use, not on the countertop taking up space and an electrical outlet .  It runs on batteries and is shaped kind of like an elongated mouse.  You plop it on top of the can, press the button, and away it goes.  It actually cuts the rim of the can just under the lid, so you also don’t get any sharp edges.  And none of that nasty gunk that builds up on conventional can openers.  It works just as well on the wide tuna cans as on the soup and tomato sauce cans.

I got mine at Wal Mart for about $20, and it was worth every penny.  I saved the box for a while, because I’m a skeptic and was sure it wouldn’t live up to its hype.  But it’s been about six months and I threw the box away a while ago.

  1. I have to agree. I have one of these can openers too and I love it. It opens the can-all the way around, every time.

  2. Hi Susan

We have one of those here in the UK its great for normal size tins but when we try to open a super large tin of dog food it struggles a bit , in fact it downright stops dead in its tracks and the plantiff cry from the kitchen comes for help.

  3. Thanks for sharing your experience, Les. I haven’t seen a can that large, so that’s good to know!
