The Best Speech At a Political Convention

Meet Adnan Barqawi of Kuwait City, Kuwait, a Palestinian by birth.  He is a senior at Virginia Tech and was named the 2009 Undergraduate Student Leader of the Year.  He is a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and served as the Regimental Commander, the top cadet in the corps, during the fall semester.  Among other duties, he led the training and daily operations for 700 cadets.  Last weekend, he gave a speech at a Virginia political convention (I’ll let you guess for which party!) that was by all accounts the best speech at the convention.  This is truly an impressive young man and one who will indeed make a difference in this world.  I hope you enjoy it.  (It’s in two parts, but it’s worth it — trust me!)

He’s just getting warmed up; the best is yet to come!
